New Delhi: A Delhi Court On Tuesday, 2020 North East Delhi riots were allowed to apply for registration of FIR against Delhi Law Minister Kapil Mishra and directed for further investigation.
Rouse Avenue Court found Cognizable offense Which needs to be investigated against Mishra. It said that his presence was in the field of Kardam Puri based on the material kept by Delhi Police.
The judge said, “It is clear that Mishra was in the area at the time of the alleged crime … further investigation was required.”
In August 2024, the court heard an application filed by Mohammad Ilas, a resident of Yamuna Vihar, who demanded Mishra, the then show of Dayalpur Police Station, and five others, including BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht and former BJP Malas Jagdish Priha and Satipal Sample Sansad. Mishra, an MLA from Karawal Nagar, was appointed as a minister in the Delhi government, supervising law and justice, labor and tourism departments.
On 27 February, the Delhi Police opposed the petition, stating that Mishra’s role was already investigated in connection with a major conspiracy. The matter included data like JNU alumni leader Omar Khalid and other student activists. , This submission was done by Special Public Prosecutor Amit Prasad.
