Once seen as social allies, US President Donald Trump and late Podophile Jeffrey Epstein shared a friendship for more than a decade.But as the GOP leader has faced heat over the decisions of his Epstein-era, the spotlight has returned to his scam relationship. Things that are now subject to the lens of both Democrat and Republican. ,Here is a timeline of unusual bond between Trump and Epstein:
In the early 1980s to the early 2000s: friends in high places
Trump has publicly acknowledged that their friendship with Epstein began in the 1980s and lasted at least 15 years. In a 2002 interview New york Magazine, Trump said, “I have known Jeff for 15 years. A terrible man. He is very fun to live together. It is also said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the small side. There is no doubt about it – Jeffrey enjoys her social life.”During those years, the pair was seen together in many events. In 1992, Trump hosted a party in attendance with NFL cheerleaders at his Mar-e-Lago Resort in Florida, where NBC footage shows him chatting with Epstein. He also attended Victoria’s Secret “Angels” party in New York in 1997.
1993 to 1997: Flights on Eptin’s private jet
Trump’s name appears seven times in Epstein’s flight log. He allegedly traveled to Epstein’s private aircraft four times in 1993, once in 1994, 1995 and 1997. These trips took place between Palm Beach, New York and Washington, DC. Trump flew on Epstein’s jet, but insisted that he never traveled to Epstein’s private island or was engaged in illegal activity. He has since indicated fingers on others including other US President Bill Clinton, said, “My opinion with the famous island with Jeffrey Epstein has a lot of problems.” Trump was also listed in contacts with Epstein’s “Little Black Book”, a now-so-in-law that included famous celebrities, politicians and royalty.
2000: Mar-e-Lago and Virginia gifre Eats
Trump’s Mar-e-Lago Club re-revealed allegations related to Epstein, when Virginia Gifre, one of Epstein’s victims, said she was admitted there at the age of 16. Gifray claimed that she was studying a massage therapy manual, when Gisline Maxwell approached her, offering a job as Epstein’s visit. He alleged that he was later abused and abused by Epstein and powerful men including Prince Andrew. He denied claims but stepped down from royal duties in 2019. Gifray died of suicide in April 2025.
2003: Birthday letter controversy
Wall Street Journal said on Thursday that Trump sent a letter to Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003, including a sketch of a naked woman with the name “Donald” placed in a graphic area. The letter allegedly ended with words: “Happy birthday – and may be another wonderful secret every day.” Trump ever refused to send such a note. “I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t take pictures of women,” she told WSJ. “This is not my language. This is not my word.” The incident has triggered strong reactions. Trump has threatened to sue WSJ, Rupert Murdoch and Newscorp on the report, called it “fake”. Maga figures and loyalists ralled behind him, some called the letter a forgery. Trump supporters argued that he only writes with a black sharpie, not the typed notes.
2004: falling on property
Trump claimed that the friendship with Eptin ended after a real estate struggle in 2004. Both men were bidding for a luxury palm beach mansion. Trump excluded Epstein, which was allegedly a crack. Till 2019, Trump said that he did not talk in 15 years and said, “I am not a fan.” Shortly after the fall, the Palm Beach police received complaints about Epstein’s activities with the underaez girls, causing the 2006 prosecution and final petition in 2008.
2019: Epstein is arrested again, dies in custody
Epstein was again arrested in 2019 on charges of sex trafficking minors. This case was ruled in part Miami heraldWho revealed how he received a generous petition a decade ago. According to officials quoting The New York Times, they were accused of abusing dozens of girls. His death gave rise to many conspiracy principles that continue till date.
2020: Trump sends mixed signals on Maxwell
During the early part of his presidential post, Trump appeared to be a complete investigation into Epstein’s crimes. In 2019, Trump said, “I want a whole investigation, and that’s what I am at all.” AxisJonathan Swan, “I wish him all the best. I am not seeing anything bad for him. Maxwell was later convicted in 2021 and is now serving a 20 -year sentence.
2024–2025: Transparency promised Pulled back again
During the 2024 President’s campaign, Trump appeared open to release documents related to Epstein. “I think I will,” he said on Fox News, before cautioning “a lot of foi stuff”, can damage the reputation of innocent people.
