3 years later banning the sale of cannabis without Thailand prescription

Bangkok: The Thailand is tightening the control of cannabis by banning the sale of the plant to those without a recipe.Thailand became the first country in Asia to reduce Canbis in 2022, promoting Thailand tourism and farming, and gave birth to thousands of shops. But the country has faced public backlash on the allegations that under-regulations have made the drug available to children and have caused drug addiction.Health Minister Somasak Thepsutin signed an order on Monday, which restrictions shops from selling cannabis to customers without any prescription. It also wants to recover canbis buds as a controlled herb.Fanurat Lukboon, general secretary of the Narcotics Control Board’s office, said on Wednesday that his agency is ready to study and implement changes in rules. This order will be effective when it would be published in the Royal Gazette, although it was not clear when this would happen. The ruling Fu Thai party had previously promised to re -criminalize the drug, but faced strong resistance from its former partner, Bhumjithi Party in the coalition government, which supported the diagonalization. Bhumjithai left an alliance on a leaked phone call between Prime Minister Tertongtern Shinavatra and former Cambodian leader Hun Sen last week.Somasak told reporters on Tuesday that he would like to leave Canbis as an intoxicating in future. Last month, after the officials disclosed, the step came that the trafficking of cannabis related to tourists had increased in recent months.Fanurat said that a study conducted by his agency last year found that the number of people accustomed to the cannabis had increased significantly, as it had increased considerably after being decimated.Government spokesperson Ziru Hungsab said in a statement on Tuesday that the government ordered the Ministry of Health to tighten the control of cannabis as “several shops opened to sell cannabis for both recreational and medical objectives, allowing easy access to children and common people, which contradicts to crack the government’s purpose”.A group of canbis said on Wednesday that the change in the rules was politically motivated. The group said that they would rally in the Ministry of Health next month to oppose the change and try to commit criminal offenses again to consume or sell cannabis.
