New Delhi: Thirty -seven years later, when he raped an 11 -year -old girl in Ajmer district of Rajasthan, the Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the sentence of the accused, but declared her a teenager. The court directed the man who is now 53 years old, appearing before the Juvenile Justice Board, who can send him to a special house for three years.The man was convicted by Additional Sessions Judge, Kinsanggarh in 1993, and sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment for rape under Section 376. The order of the trial court was upheld by the Rajasthan High Court in July 2024. The convict did not extend the issue of adolescence, when he first told for the conviction.
