45 injured heavy explosion at Rome Petrol Station

Rome: On Friday, at least 45 people were injured at a large explosion at an eastern district of Rome, including 12 police officers and six firefighters, Italian officials said.The explosion in the distributor of petrol, diesel and LPG in the working class Prenestino neighborhood was heard in the capital after 8 am. People collided with the explosion are being treated in local hospitals, Italian news agencies reported that two are in critical condition due to the need for widespread burns and ventilation support.The website Roma today published a picture of a huge ball of high flame and smoke in the sky. Different images issued by the fire department showed the petrol station almost completely.Italian media said the firefighters and ambulance workers were caught in the explosion as they were first invited to the scene when a truck hit a pipeline at the petrol station, the Italian media said. Rome’s Mayor Roberto Guultieri, speaking from the scene, told reporters to an incident during the fuel-tank refilling operation, was suspected, which led to a gas leak, followed by the fire and explosion.
