A powerful earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale affected Greece’s Dodecian Island area on Tuesday. The seismic phenomenon occurred close to the Turkish border, as reported by the European Mediterranean Earthquake Center.The seismic activity was recorded at a depth of 68 km (42 mi), EMSC confirmed.Meanwhile, according to the Turkish disaster management agency, the 5.8-Chancement earthquake hit the medieval city on Tuesday morning on Tuesday morning. Seven people were injured while trying to escape from their homes, jumped from some windows or balconies, said Idris Akbiaq, the governor of the poignant. There was no immediate report of severe structural damage.The earthquake, centered in the Mediterranean Sea, was hit at 2.17 am and was felt in the surrounding areas, including the Greek Island Rhodes, where it woke up several inhabitants.The Turkish major mistake sits on the lines and is at risk of frequent earthquakes.
