New Delhi: Many 750 pilgrims were selected through a computerized draw on Wednesday for the upcoming Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in Tibet which is taking place after a gap of about five years.Starting the journey is being seen as an attempt to normalize the Indo-China relationship that was severely killed by the East Ladakh border deadlock. This year’s pilgrimage will begin in June and will continue till August, Meya said.The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was initially suspended in 2020 due to an epidemic and later due to military deadlock between the two sides on lac in East Ladakh. The pilgrimage of Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake in the Tibet Autonomous region of China has religious significance for Hindus as well as Jains and Buddhists.Mea is the organizer of the pilgrimage. External Affairs Minister Kirti Vidhan Singh conducted a computerized draw for the selection of those who had registered online for pilgrimage. They will travel in five batches of 50 pilgrims through the Lipuleke route, and according to mea, 10 batch of each 50 yatris through the Nathu La route.
