New Delhi: Vehicle aggregators like Uber, Ola and Rapido will not be allowed to place cars, buses, three-wheelers and motorcycles over eight years old. The Ministry of Road Transport said in a revised guidelines for Agriculture that they would have to compulsorily follow the targets set by the state government to include electric and zero emission vehicles in their fleet.The ministry said that aggregators would have to ensure that the driver’s license and vehicle permit be displayed behind the front seat next to the driver so that the passengers can clearly see it. While three-wheelers and private motorcycles are currently working through aggregators in several states, the central guideline has formally included them in the policy to bring clarity as some states do not allow bikes on such platforms.The guidelines stated that drivers would have to undergo a psychological analysis conducted by the aggregators to determine that “they are fit to be on-board”. It said that agargers cannot restrict or restrict on-boarded drivers by working with many aggregators.
