Earlier, RCB posted 213/5 after batting. Jacob Bethel (55 out of 33) and Virat Kohli (62 out of 33) gave flying starts to the hosts, with 97 runs for the first wicket. But it was Romario Shepherd who provided real fireworks on death. Late, West Indian closed 53* off just 14 balls and the fifty fifty of the season and the second fastest in IPL history, the second fastest-one stunning performance of four fours and six sixes.
For CSK, Mathesh Pathirana bowled with fire and accuracy, raising 3/36 in his four overs.
With this thrilling win, RCB not only scored two important points, but also moved to the top of the points table. For CSK, it was a bitter bullet to swallow, as a remarkable followed fell into one of the most dramatic finish of the season.
