‘Stupid’: Former Pakistani cricketers hit Sunil Gavaskar for controversial comments on Asia Cup

Former Pakistani cricketers, including World Cup winner Javed Miadad and Basit AliSunil Gavaskar has strongly responded to the recent comments of Sunil Gavaskar, suggesting the possible absence of Pakistan from the upcoming Asia Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka due to political tension between nations.
The situation has increased after a deadly attack on tourists in Kashmir, resulting in 26 casualties, India accused Pakistan of supporting terrorists. Later, India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty and indicated potential counterfeit measures.

Gavaskar noted a news channel that BCCI usually follows the guidance of the Government of India, which means that the current political stress can prevent Pakistan’s participation in the tournament.
“I can’t believe that Sunny Bhai said,” Miandad told Telecomasia.net, showing her long -standing friendship. “He is a respectable, down-to-back person who was always away from politics.”
Former spinner Iqbal Qasim expressed mistrust Gavaskarnotes. He said, “Gavaskar is a responsible person who loves both sides of the border. Politics should not be merged with the game,” he said.
Basit Ali, however, used a rigid tone to express surprise. He criticized the comments as “stupid” and called upon the evidence before alleging. He said, “Let the investigation end up. Cricket should stay above political enmity,” he said.
East-Leg-spinner, Mushtaq Ahmed quoted Hazrat Ali (RA) as saying: “It is never decided in anger that forces you to regret it.” He emphasized the importance of Pakistan in cricket and warned to politicize the game.
Odi captain Mohammad Rizwan Maintained a diplomatic status about India-Pakistan cricket relations. “Whatever happens politically, cricket should go,” he said.
