Hyderabad: Elite Anti-Naxal Force, three junior commandos of Greyhounds, died on Thursday in a landmine triggered by Maoists along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. The incident is the first fatal of the year for the Telangana police in anti-aunt operations.According to senior Telangana police officials, the commandos were engaged in the practice of a regular area domination in the Wazidu-Parur forest area of Mulugu district, when the explosion occurred near the Virbhadravam-Tadapala hill.A senior official confirmed, “All three victims are constable rank Greyhound Junior Commandos. There are no other casualties. The incident occurred during a regular area domination exercise. It was not part of any joint operation with CRPF or neighboring state police.”The bodies of the commandos killed at the time of reporting had not yet reached the district headquarters. The police do not yet have the official identity of the deceased personnel.The Bhadradri-Kothagudem district of Mulugu and nearby is considered to be the most Maoist affected area of Telangana due to closeness from Chhattisgarh.
