EOS-09 satellite to be launched on May 18, India will promote India’s border monitoring powers

ISRO is going to launch the EOS-09 (Risat-1B) satellite on 18 May

New Delhi: India’s monitoring power from Akash is set to get a big boost as ISRO is scheduled to launch the PSLV-C61 mission, which takes EOS-09 (Risat-1B) radar imaging satellite in a Sun-Synchronous orbit on 18 May. The launch is scheduled from the powerful dhavan center at 6.59 AM IST.Monitoring satellite will strengthen India’s Earth observation capabilities as the EOS-09 is equipped with a state-of-the-art C-band synthetic aperture radar, allowing it to catch high-resolution images of the Earth’s surface, regardless of weather conditions.Unlike the optical satellites struggling with clouds or darkness, C-Band synthetic aperture radar of Risat-1B can remove these obstacles. This ability is important in detecting infiltration, monitoring suspected enemy movements and supporting anti -terrorism operations. With tension with stress with the border, the ability to provide continuous and reliable intelligence of satellite is a strategic property for Indian security forces. The Risat-1B has five different imaging modes, which offer flexibility to switch between an ultra-hai-resolution imaging of up to one meter to detect small objects and to detect extensive scans for observation of large area. This adaptability allows it to serve both military and civil purposes.EOS-09 (Risat-1B) is a follow-up to the Risat-1 satellite with similar configurations. It complements and complements data from resources, cartosat and Risat-2B series satellites. C-band of Risat-1B will also be useful for civil applications such as agriculture, forestry, soil moisture, geology, sea ice, coastal monitoring, goods identity and flood monitoring. The Risat series satellites, especially Risat-2, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) had earlier instruments in providing imagination for the 2016 surgical strikes on the terrorist launchpad in Pakistan (POK) and also played an important role in the 2019 Balakot air strike.
