New Delhi: An aircraft at Kolkata Airport was taken to the Gulf of separation on Tuesday afternoon for separate security check, when a passenger was suspected of carrying a bomb, according to officials.The 26 -year -old man, who was flying from Imphal to Kolkata from Mumbai to a stopover, commented during a security check just before boarding. This check is a regular part of the airline security where employees inspect the passengers and their hand items once.After claiming, security was immediately extended and appropriate safety procedures were followed, an official of the Airport Authority of India (AAI). The passenger was quickly detained by the security staff.The person reached Kolkata on an IndiGo flight and was about to take another Indigo flight to Mumbai. Among 186 passengers in Mumbai flight, 179 had already boarded when the incident took place.The flight, which was determined to leave at 1:30 pm, was delayed. All passengers were removed from the aircraft, and the aircraft was taken to a safe area for full security check.IndiGo issued a statement saying: “Flight 6E 5227 from Kolkata was threatened by a bomb before departure. After the security protocol, the aircraft was transferred to a Gulf of a separation and well.”Security has been tightened at airports across India due to recent military tension between India and Pakistan.
