US President Donald Trump gave a striking reception in Qatar on Wednesday as a pair of Tesla Cybertrack led their motorcycles through the capital city. The vehicles had a distinct red-painted hood and was part of a wide show of pageantry during Trump’s visit to the Gulf nation.Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted a grand clip on his X account.The purpose of the high-profile visit was to strengthen commercial relations in the region and the second stop of Trump was marked in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia.Like Saudi, Qatari officials all went out, sent the F -15 fighter jet to Trump’s Air Force in their airspace, a rare formal gesture.Trump’s arrival in Doha made a similar extraordinary reception in Riyadh, where Saudi crown Rajkumar Mohammed bin Salman took him to a state dinner in a golf cart, which was a fun sign for Trump’s love for the game. His motorcycle in Saudi Arabia was also with riders on white Arab horses.Qatar proceeded by offering a luxury boing 747-8 to Trump, suggesting that it could be used as an Air Force while the new US President Jets are being built. Trump defended the proposal as a smart financial step, but critics raised concerns, called it “naked corruption” and warned that it could be a “national security threat” as it comes from a foreign government.As the region continued to influence the President, the press access remained limited. In Saudi Arabia, reporters were kept away with strict rules to shout questions. The same control was seen in Qatar.Trump’s visit goes to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, his last stop.
