New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday admitted that the Hare Krishna Temple in Bangalore belongs to the ISKCON Society in the city. The apex court allowed ISKCON Bangalore’s plea to challenge the order of a Karnataka High Court, in favor of which the verdict was pronounced. However, the High Court reversed the verdict and maintained a protest by ISKCON Mumbai, effectively gave him control over the temple. Legal quarrels create two societies against each other with similar names and spiritual missions. Karnataka-Planned Society, ISKCON Bangalore said it has been working independently and managing the Bengaluru temple for decades. ISKCON Mumbai registered under the Registration Act of National Committees of 1860 and Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 claims that ISKCON Bangalore is only its branch and that the property in question is correctly in its jurisdiction.
