Agra/Dehradun/Haridwar: 90 Bangladeshi nationals, including 22 children, were taken into custody in Mathura district for illegally living in India. The group was apprehended from the bricks of Khajpur village under the boundary of the Naujhel police station in the temple city. Separately, the Uttarakhand Police also arrested two foreign nationals – an American citizen and a Bangladeshi woman – during a verification campaign.Acting on a tip-off received on Friday, joint teams from the Naujil police station and local intelligence unit (Liu) of Mathura conducted raids and detained 37 men, 31 women and 22 children. During the operation, the police also seized 31 mobile phones, two Aadhaar cards, four photocopies of Aadhaar card and a PAN card.A senior Mathura police official involved in the investigation told TOI, “During interrogation, he told us that they had arrived 10 to 15 years ago, crossing the porous borders. After that, they went to Delhi, Haryana, Bihar etc.. He said that some children are young for two to three months.Mathura SSP Shlok Kumar said, “Act, 1946 and BNS section 318 (4) (cheating), 338 (forgery), 336 (transformative documents), 340 (2) (from forging document or electronic records, which is from the real card, has also been informed about a case. Will move towards extinguishing.Meanwhile, in Uttarakhand, the police arrested an American citizen from Pithorgarh on 30 April and a Bangladeshi woman from Haridwar on Thursday. Both were found to live in the state without valid documents.
