China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to expand to Afghanistan: Why does it matter to India. Bharat News

Pakistan and China have agreed to extend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Afghanistan in an attempt to deepen trilateral cooperation between the three countries. The move has been continuously opposed by India as it includes construction through Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK).This is the first tripartite meeting between the three since Operation Sindoor, India’s aggressive and Poke Post Pahalgam attack against the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan.Three countries sharing borders with India also confirmed their commitment to “regional peace, stability and development”.Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who is on a three -day visit to China, said, “Pakistan, China and Afghanistan stand together for regional peace, stability and development.”“He discussed the development of practical steps to enhance diplomatic engagement, strengthen communication and promote business, and development as major drivers of shared prosperity. They agreed to deepen the cooperation of belt and road initiative (BRI) and expand the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to the rumor.”
Why does it matter to India?
India and Pakistan have recently retreated from the verge of war when the two countries initiated military action against each other. New Delhi has always expressed concern over the infrastructure of terror being funded by Pakistan, especially in POK, allegedly Pahgam is a leader for terrorist attacks. This targeted India to launch Operation Sindoor to India and nine terrorist sites in Poke.Meanwhile, China expressed support for its “All-Vather Friends” during the operation and its Foreign Minister was in constant touch with the Pakistani counterpart. In addition, the use of Chinese weapons in its retaliation of Pakistan came as a surprise, given that China is 82% of the defense imports of Islamabad.
Should the inclusion of Afghanistan worry about India?
India has strongly condemned China and Pakistan to encourage the participation of third countries in CPEC projects in the past.“We have seen reports about encouraging the proposed participation of third countries in so -called CPEC projects. Any such action by any party violates India’s sovereignty and regional integrity. India strongly and continuously opposed projects in the so -called CPEC, which are in Indian territory, illegally occupied by Pakistan, “said in 2022.Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s inclusion comes at a time when the Taliban government condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and rejected the claims of the Pakistan Army that India had launched a missile strike in the Afghan region. This led to the first political association between India and the Taliban, as the two appreciated the April 22 terror attack for uneven condemnation of Kabul, killing 26 people. As India already has border issues with China and Pakistan, Afghanistan’s solidarity can prove to be dangerous.
