New Delhi: Mumbai experienced a significant rainfall of more than 60 mm within 24 hours, which led to widespread chaos, waterlogging and grief. Social media platforms were filled with many videos showing disrupted activities in Mumbai. One of these videos emerging from Sakinaka expressed public displeasure. The viral footage shows sufficient amount of nonsense through water -filled roads, causing severe traffic disruption and difficulties for passengers. The video was shared with the caption “OMG … by the X handle @mumbaimatterz. It’s Sakinaka … it’s a pathetic scene … but better than Singapore.”Many social media users criticized the authorities about insufficient waste management and drainage infrastructure. A user commented, “They prefer to live in this dirt. They throw garbage and then park their vehicles, of which the garbage cannot be removed.” “A few years ago there was no waterlogging in Andheri-Kurla RD (this Sakinaka-SASALPHA part). Now a little rain and the whole place is flood-wrong!” Noted another user.“When they are increasing property tax, road tax, increase the fine fee in the name of giving Mumbaikars a world -class smart city?” A third user responded. “It is very embarrassing,” a fourth user added.Various areas of India’s financial center experienced heavy rainfall with thunderous and electricity on Tuesday evening. The average rainfall in the city was 24 mm in the city, 26 mm in the eastern suburbs and 40 mm in the western suburbs. IMD classifies rainfall as “medium” between 15.6 mm and 64.4 mm. BMC announced high tide of 3.07 m and 3.79 meters respectively, respectively, 6.04 am and 6.35 pm.
