The 22-year-old set rode Madleen on Sunday, a small vessel operated by the Freedom Flotilla alliance, which has an essential supplies such as milk, rice, protein bars and tinned foods for the Palestinians in a war-ridden enclave.The Israeli army has strongly responded to the mission, warning that it is “ready” and “will work accordingly” to prevent the boat from reaching Gaza.“Navy operates day and night to protect the boundaries of Israel and sea borders,” Israeli Army spokesman Brigadier General AFI Defferin said at a press conference. “We have gained experience in recent years, and we will work accordingly.”Madeline, who left from Sicily on June 2, is part of a long -running attempt by the Freedom Flotila alliance, a non -violent international movement, which has sent ships to Gaza since 2010 to oppose Israel’s blockade and give human relief.Thunberg described the journey as a function of solidarity, wearing a kefeh scarf by boat and holding a Palestinian flag. His participation has added significant global visibility to the mission.Shortly after departure, some of the 11 other activists on the board were followed by a drone. Later they were identified as Greek Coast Guard Equipment, not Israeli Monitoring.This is not the first time Flotila has faced resistance. In early May, another vessel, wisdom, was allegedly damaged in international water away from Malta. The activists suspect that it was killed by an Israeli drone, although Israel has not confirmed any partnership.The Freedom Flotila alliance says its goal is peaceful and human. On Tuesday, the group posted on social media, “Together, we can open the People’s Sea Corridor for Gaza.”Meanwhile, Israel recently reduced its blockade on Gaza, but support groups say the flow of relief is insufficient. The United Nations and International Organizations continue to call for extended access to food, medical and other basic needs in Gaza, where civil victims have deteriorated amidst the ongoing struggle.
