New Delhi: In new office buildings for ministries along the Kartavya Path, ministers and officials will not have any scope to make any amendments in their room and office. On Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged him not to avoid doing so and not to connect his “status” to the allotted place.Modi’s message, the council of entire ministers, all secretaries and department heads soon started transferring some ministries from North and South blocks to the newly constructed general central secretariat (CCS) buildings on the duty path, even the government’s struggle to find sufficient space by the government. Sources said that ending the current trend of continuous renewal, changes in furniture and other items will help save for public treasures. An official said, “In most cases it has become a new normal that after taking charge as a minister and senior officials, the first task is to change the rooms and the scope. It should end when we get new officers with a modern infrastructure,” an official said.Sources said that Modi said in the meeting that once all the buildings are completed, there will be enough space for all. He also commented on the poor situation of Shastri Bhavan, which has several ministries.Although the government initially envisaged to complete the Central Vista Rewmps projects by 2026, it was delayed due to Kovid -19 and several other reasons.
