New Delhi: The Navy is now the first of the 16 special small warships, designed for anti -submarine war and low -intensity marine operations along the coast, built at a total cost of Rs 12,622 crore in the Indian shipyard.The first Anti-Saberine Warfare Uthla Water Craft, created by L&T Shipbuilders by Kolkata-based Defense Shipyard Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), will be commissioned on 18 June in the presence of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan in Visakhapatnam in Visakhapatnam.The 77-meter-lamb craft with a displacement of 1,490 tonnes, and the state-of-the-art is equipped with a underwater sensor, is the largest Indian warship ever, which can be inspired by the diesel engine-watterJate combination.“The warship incorporates more than 80% indigenous materials and integrates advanced systems from Indian defense firms, including an official, which includes India Electronics Limited, L&T and Mahindra Defense,” said an official.GRSE and Cochin Shipyard are constructing each of these warships under contracts of Rs 6,311 crore in April 2019. All warships should be distributed by 2028.In the name of the historic Arnala Fort in Vasai in Maharashtra, the first of these 16 warships reflects India’s rich maritime heritage.
