Murshidabad violence: Father-son dragged out of the house, killed in front of family, 900-hit charge sheet says India news

New Delhi: Hargobindo Das and his son Chandan Das were taken out of their house and were brutally killed with an ax in front of their family members during communal violence in Murshidabad in April, police said in a charge sheet filed in the case.Police on Friday presented a 900-position charge sheet before the Jangipur court, in which 13 accused were named in connection with the killings and widespread violence shocking the district.According to the charge sheet, the victims of Betbona village in Zafarabad were among the three people killed during unrest, which broke in the Muslim-dominated district amid protests on the Waqf (Amendment) Act.The allegations include murder, riot, house-hospitalThe 13 accused have been accused under several sections of the Indian Nai Code, including a group, riot, house-trusspas and house-breaking murder. It is also a document of police efforts to track efforts and arrest the suspects, some of which hid immediately after the crime.Communal disturbance lasted for days, more than 300 arrestedViolence, which surrounded parts of Murshidabad from 8 to 12 April, inspired them to largely arson and destruction of property. The situation became so unstable that the Calcutta High Court had to intervene, ordered to be restored to deploy the Central Armed Police Forces.The police have since registered more than 60 FIRs across the district and arrested more than 300 persons regarding the riots.Officials said the case is expected to begin soon in the case of slave murder, as the court has started investigating voluntary evidence submitted by the officials.
