Mohali: YouTuber Jasbir Singh, accused of spying for Pakistan, was sent on a two -day police remand by the Mohali court on Saturday. Jasbir Singh, a resident of Mehlan village in Ropar district, was presented before the court after completing the three -day remand before the court by the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) of the Punjab Police.SSOC, citing the need to seize Singh’s laptop, demanded a seven -day expansion and drawn more information about its alleged link for a detective network. The government prosecutor told the court that further digital evidence was likely to emerge and the examination was required to find out the entire limit of alleged espionage.

However, Jasbir Singh’s legal lawyer elected police claims, stating that his client was falsely implicated. Raksha argued that Singh was initially called through a formal notice and was fully cooperated with the police during two days of interrogation. It was only later, the lawyer said that the police arrested him and gave him a detective label without a solid base.After considering the arguments presented by both sides, the court ordered a two -day police remand, and dismissed the SSOC request for a longer period.Sources close to the investigation have revealed that Jasbir Singh was arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into Pakistan -related espionage activities. The investigation allegedly highlighted his contact with YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was earlier arrested from Haryana, and an official of a rejected Pakistani government was identified as Ehsan-ur-Raham aka Danish.Jasbir Singh came under police investigation after releasing a collaborative video with Jyoti Malhotra on his YouTube channel. Investigators are now examining the limits and nature of their cooperation with Malhotra and Danish, and whether sensitive information can be shared.As the investigation continues, the case has attracted public attention due to the participation of social media data and the serious nature of allegations. After the remand period ends, the matter is scheduled for further hearing.
