Army to promote new air defense with Rs 30,000 crore QR-SAM deal. Bharat News

New Delhi: Ministry of Defense will soon be raised for an initial node for a proposal of Rs 30,000 crore for the Army’s Air Missile (QR-SAM) system to purchase three indigenous quick response surface regiments. The Defense Acquisition Council, led by Rajnath Singh, will consider the requirement (AON) for excessive-mobile QR-SAM system, designed to disrupt hostile fighters, helicopters and drones at the border up to 25–30 km at the end of this month. The move soon comes after India’s current multi-level air defense network, which plays an important role in thwarting several waves of Turkish-Mool drones and Chinese missiles, which has been launched by Pakistan during Operation Sindoor on 7-10 May.The DRDO and the army have tested the QR-SAM system against high-speed air goals over the last three-four years, which have to evaluate their capacity under different days and night operating scenarios while mimicking different types of dangers. Defense PSUS Bharat will co-create the electronics and India’s dynamics QR-SAM system.“The QR-SAM can work on steps with system search and track capacity and set fire to small stops. They are tailor to transfer tanks and infantry to provide air defense in a strategic battlefield.” Said an official.Army Air Defense (AAD), which performed highly well during Operation Sindoor, in fact, requires 11 regiments of the QR-SAM, even incorporating regiments of the progressively indigenous sky system, currently containing about 25-measi interceptions.IAF will add the induction of the QR-SAM system to the existing air defense network of the army, which is connected to long-range Russian S-400 ‘Tremf’ Surface-to-Air Missile System (380 km interception range) and Barak-8 Medium Range SAM System (70 km) to, 60 km-files (70 km). Anti -aercraft gun (3.5 km) and indigenous integrated drone detection and interdiction system (1 km -2 km). While the DRDO is also preparing a very short distance air defense missile system (VSHorads), which has a 6 km interception range, the real game-chain will be an air defense system with a 350 km range being developed under the ambitious project Kusha.India plans to operate this long-range system by 2028-2029, in which the Ministry of Defense approved AON for the purchase of five squadrons for IAF at a cost of Rs 21,700 crore in 2023, as reported by TOI for the first time. Also read: India aims to deploy indigenous long distance air defense system by 2028-2029
