NEET UG 2025 SCAM: CBI arrested two for running Rs 87.5 lakh. Bharat News

According to an official press release issued by the Agency on Saturday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two persons for allegedly cheating the candidates of NEET UG 2025 and their families, promising to manipulate the examination score in exchange for a large scale. On June 9, the CBI registered a case against the residents of the accused, Solpur and Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra to claim to claim access to the authorities within the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET examination. The primary accused was arrested in Mumbai on 9 June, followed by a co-accused in Sangli district on 10 June.Investigators found that the accused was meeting the parents at Hotel ITC Grand Central in Parel area of Mumbai, demanding Rs 90 lakh per candidate and later an amount of Rs 87.5 lakh was discussed. Individuals have allegedly assured the parents that they would get the scores inflated six hours before the official result announcement.Further investigation revealed that one of the accused operated an entry counseling firm in Navi Mumbai, while another colleague conducted a similar service in Pune. A forensic analysis of the seized mobile phones included NEET roll number, admit card, OMR sheet details, and records of financial behavior through the Halla Network.So far, the CBI has not received any participation of government officials or NTA personnel in the scam. Parents are misled by claiming such connections to the accused. Investigation is on.
