New Delhi: After a tragic stampede at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, 11 people in which 11 were claimed, the Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to prepare a standard guideline for match and win celebrations. The committee has been tasked to submit its recommendations within 15 days.

A board statement said, “The Apex Council expressed its deep grief over tragic incidents in Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. “In the light of the incident during the victory ceremony in Bangalore, the apex council has decided to constitute a committee to prepare a comprehensive guidelines aimed at preventing such incidents in the future.”The tragedy in Bangalore took place after 18 years of waiting during a public festival after the Royal Challengers Bangalore girl IPL Trime. An unexpected bounce in the crowd caused a stampede at Stadium Gates, raising serious concerns about the plan of mob management and incident during such high-profile occasions.
The upcoming guidelines are expected to cover coordination with congestion measures, stadium capacity restrictions, emergency protocols and local authorities to avoid the same tragedies in the future.
