Mumbai: Maharashtra Legislative Council Speaker Ram Shinde violated the privilege proposal against the stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra for his parody song, which was given to Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and sent it to the Privilege Committee. The proposal was shifted by BJP MLC Praveen Derekar in March. The committee will review the proposal and decide to issue a notice to Kamra.Ram Shinde told TOI, “The committee will call on further action.” Officials said the panels will be ahead of the monsoon session of the State Legislature, starting from June 30, and Kamra could receive notices earlier next month.Reacting, Kamra said on X, “The real violation of the trust is allowing people to die in public transport every day.” BJP MLC Prasad Lad, who is the head of the Privilege Committee, did not respond to calls and text messages on Saturday.
