A 57 -year -old man is being sought by officials in connection with two politically motivated firing, which targeted Minnesota MPs on Saturday, killing former state house president Melissa Hortman and her husband, and injured Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, officials told the Associated Press.According to two persons familiar with the investigation, the law enforcement officers recognized the suspect as a vain bolter. The suspect is accused of presenting a police officer as a police officer and making a coordinated attack in two houses – in a Brooklyn Park, where Hortman and his spouse were broadly shot, and the other in Champlin, where Hofman and his wife were injured.Police say the attacker was worn by a fake police uniform and a vehicle was drove by a squad car. Public Safety Commissioner Bob Jacobson said, “The suspect exploited our uniform confidence.” “That betrayal is deeply upset.”A fake police SUV found in one scene had an announcement, including several MPs and officials, including both the victims. Police chief Mark Brule of Brooklyn Park said, “We immediately alert the state,” saying that the authorities were now providing additional protection to other possible goals.Governor Tim Walz called the firing “targeted political violence”, saying: “All of us should stand against all forms of political violence. People responsible for this will be held accountable.”According to Superintendent of Bureau of Criminal Expenses, Drew Evans, a shelter-in-place order was issued after the attacks. Officials believe that the suspected police ran away from Hortman’s house after the exchange of bullets with the police.The Autopsy confirmed that Hortman and her husband died of gun bullet. Hoffman, though seriously injured, was reported to receive treatment.In response to the incident, the state patrol team of Minnesota urged people to avoid “no kings” protests across the state, citing precautionary concerns after the suspect was found in equal passengers in a vehicle.
