NEET Results 2025: More than 12 lakh candidates qualify, check the category wise number of students here

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the NEET UG 2025 results, which has given relief to more than 2.2 million students appearing for the country’s largest medical entrance examination. Conducted on May 4, 2025, NEET UG serves as an entrance for graduate medical and dental entry across India. This year, a notable 12.3 lakh candidates have gained qualification, marking a significant increase in success rate compared to previous years. Candidates can now use their scorecard on the official website, neet.nta.nic.inWith the results, meditation now shifts to consultation, seat allocation and cut-off trends. NEET UG 2025: Number of candidates eligible
According to the official data released by the NTA, the category-wise breakdown of the following qualified candidates is:
- Common/unreserved (ur): 3,38,728 candidates
- OBC (Other Backward Classes): 5,64,611 candidates
- SC (Scheduled Castes): 1,68,873 candidates
- ST (Scheduled Tribes): 67,234 candidates
- EWS (economically weak section): 97,085 candidates
- PWD (Disabled person – in all categories): 3,673 eligible
These numbers indicate a strong representation in all major categories, with OBC and UR candidates contributed to most qualifiers.
Gender-wise NEET UG 2025 Result Description

- Women candidates are qualified: 7,22,462
- Male candidate qualified: 5,14,063
- Third gender candidate qualified: 6
Women candidates have continued their dominance in NEET UG results, both in terms of participation and success rate.
What is next for qualified candidates?
Eligible candidates will now be eligible to participate in the counseling process for admission to MBBS, BDS and AYUSH courses in MCC (Medical Counseling Committee). Counseling schedule is expected to be announced soon mxc.nic.inCandidates will also have to track a state-level counseling portal for domicile quota seats.There has been a slight decrease in cut-off mark this year due to relatively moderate difficulty level and high competition.
