New Delhi: The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) issued a red warning of very heavy rainfall in the Ghat areas of Pune and Satara in the next 16 hours in Raigad on Monday. Mumbai is placed under orange warning. Mumbai experienced the morning shower on Monday, causing waterlogging in many low -lying areas. The weather also disrupted flight services, in which Air India said heavy rains could affect flight operations from Mumbai and for it.Earlier in the day, IndiGo Airlines issued a travel advice for those traveling from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai. The airline has also warned of temporary disruption in its program, urging passengers to monitor their flight status and plan their journey accordingly.Rainly raining MumbaiOfficials said that there was continuous rains in Mumbai on Monday morning, flooded in at least areas and interrupted road traffic, suburban trains and metro services.The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) will be cloudy with the possibility of heavy rains in the next 24 hours.The island city recorded 95 mm of rainfall, while eastern and western suburbs received 58 mm and 75 mm respectively. A 4.21-meter high tide is expected to be at 3.31 pm.Suburban trains were delayed on central and western lines, passengers reported a 20–30 minute holdup.Mumbai Metro One said, “Services are now running normally.”Koncon area witness rains continuouslyIn the last few days, heavy rainfall has been intensifying the Konkan region and other parts of Maharashtra. According to officials, from June 1, rain -related incidents have claimed the lives of 18 people and injured 65 people. IMD issued its district forecast and warning for the next five days on Monday afternoon, “Heavy rains with heavy rains at different places in Raigad district with heavy rains along with heavy rains in Pune and Satara districts till 8.30 am on Tuesday. Meanwhile, an orange alert has been announced in Konkan for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts, along with Amravati, Bhandara, Gondia and Nagpur districts in Vidarbh, with the forecast of “something or very heavy rainfall at different places”. IMD said that this forecast and warning would be effective till 8.30 am on Tuesday. A red warning “takes action,” urges authorities to respond immediately, while an orange alert indicates that “be prepared to take action,” requires readiness for potential emergency measures. In Konkan and other parts of Maharashtra, flood -like conditions have developed in some districts, with continuous rains as rivers have started to overflow. Many low-fold areas have gone under water in villages and towns with riverbank. Additionally, IMD has maintained an orange warning for some southern districts in Konkan in the next two to three days.
