National Conference up against ‘Dual Shakti Kendra’ in J&K, India News seeks restoration of state for effective governance

Srinagar: Questioning LG Manoj Sinha’s claim that he only controlled the police, on Monday, the governing national conference intensified his pitch against the “Dual Shakti Kendra” in J&K, claiming that it was obstructing effective governance, and reiterated its demand for restoration of the state.“Governor Sahib is only under police. But, in the area facing rebellion and major security challenges, it means that he controls law and order,” Nekan MLA Salman Sagar told reporters at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar. He said, “Even more important thing is that the transfer and publicity of IAS officers is also subject to their rights, which effectively give them control over administrative machinery. It disrupts day-to-day functioning of the elected government,” he said.Sagar said that the government was made paralyzed and was unable to address public grievances due to the double power center, and the restoration of the state – promised by both PM and Union Home Minister – was the only way to resolve the deadlock of governance. He said, “Even after choosing the government, if the issues of the people remain inadvertently, it will only add their frustration,” he said.LG Sinha said on Saturday that he has no right over the departments related to development and that the responsibility of the government is with the elected government. He appealed for more support from LG’s office by Health and Education Minister Sakina Eto. Sinha said, “I have a police, and I can provide a police, where needed. All other departments – roads, water, electricity, agriculture – are with the government,”Within the government, bitterness on curtain power is increasing. Last week, Deputy CM Surinder Chaudhary accused the people of Jammu and Kashmir of the NC of the proxy government of reducing democracy by running democracy by running the proxy government despite voting in the office.NC spokesperson Tanveer Sadiq said that if LG only controlled the Home Department, how did he hand over an appointment letter to the wife of Syed Adil Shah, the Pahalgam Terror attack victim last week.Other opposition parties are blaming Omar Abdullah government for ineffective and lack of administration. Sajad Lone, president of the People’s Conference, said that the CM blamed double control for the situation, but was in his hands to fulfill the election promise. Loan said, “Start it with free electricity or free gas cylinder, or make the daily bets permanent.”
