New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his two-day official visit by Cyprus, presented two handicrafts gifts to the country’s first couple-a symbolic gesture outlined India’s rich artisan traditions as the two countries signed several agreements to promote trade and economic cooperation.PM Modi gifted Cyprus president Nicos Christodaulides a brilliant Kashmiri silk carpet. The deep red carpet, border with fan and red motif, has traditional vine and geometric patterns. It shows a prized two-tone visual effects-appears to move colors with changes in the light and angle-offering the illusion of two different carpets in one.For First Lady Philip Karsera, PM Modi handled a silver clutch in Andhra Pradesh. The purse made using ancient reps technology mixes complex temple-inspired floral designs with modern aesthetics. Its curved frame, ornate handle, and the central semi-precious stone gives it a Regal elegance, which symbolizes India’s ability to contemporary traditional metal crafts.The exchange came when PM Modi participated in a business roundtable in Limasol with Cystodaulides, president of Cyprus, where the two sides welcomed the new way of cooperation in Fintech, high -tech industries, renewable energy and film sector.Several MoUs were signed between Indian and Cyprint companies, including a landmark treaty between dual listing and research cooperation between NSE and Cyprus Stock Exchange. Another major agreement between Gift City and Cyprus Bores in Gujarat was a major milestone for India’s global financial outreach.Many business leaders of the two countries voiced optimism about the expansion of bilateral relations. “PM Modi’s visit will increase the speed in economic, trade and investment relations between India, Cyprus and the European Union,” said Invest Cyprus president Evageno.
