New Delhi: PM Modi on Monday confirmed the support of New Delhi to complete the talks for a free trade agreement with the European Union and said that the proposed India was delayed by tension in the Economic Corridor of Middle East Europe, due to tension in West Asia, would contribute towards peace and prosperity in the region.PM Modi said in a meeting with the CEO in Cyprus, “Last month, an ambitious FTA had an agreement between India and the UK. Now, we are committed to fulfill an FTA between India and the European Union by the end of the year. The dialogue has taken up speed. The conversation has taken place.The trade deal with the European Union is proposed to cover 23 chapters, including gender and stability, and both sides are now looking at a broad deal until July instead of an early installment.The chief negotiator Srinivas said, “We have a large number of issues on which we are trying to find an convergence so that we move towards closing the agreement.”On the Indo-UK Trade Pact, he said that the agreement was being prepared to be signed.
