I am located in Cardiff, and after working with Delhi Capital – who is also involved with Seattle – I had a good response about the environment here. I had earlier talked to Washington Freedom, but when the role of the head coach of the orkas came, I consulted with the people I had faith, and he said it is a great setup. Last year, the team did not go according to the plan, but there is a lot of talent on and outside the field. I was excited to be a part of something that built for the future.
How does coaching in MLC compare other international and franchise leagues? Each environment is different. The challenge here is quickly favorable – to understand culture, in fittings, and help it shape it. I arrived a little late due to IPL’s commitments, but the players are welcoming. What excites me the most is vision – not only for one season, but to create permanent success over years. While the beginning is not in our way, there is enough talent here. Some victory and confidence can change everything.

Do you believe that Major League Cricket (MLC) can inspire the next generation players in America?
How do you nurture international T20 stars coaching and local American talent? This is the art of modern coaching. Every competition consists of local players, and understand how they train and the best fit. Not everyone can play their ideal role, so it is important to make team-first chemistry. Confidence and stability matter. We are focusing on finding a structure that is repeated and increases year after year.
What kind of culture do you want to install in Seattle orcas? We have talked about the main values. The players themselves recognized honesty and team-first mentality as important. It is important to think beyond personal performance, now with a lot of crossover in the T20 league. A team-centered approach helps players to flourish here and open the doors elsewhere. And in its heart, cricket is a person-driven game. If we manage people well, the performance is as follows. What are the opportunities and obstacles in growing cricket in the United States?I like to focus on opportunities. Incidents like Olympics and T20 World Cup in the US provide a global stage. When I gave coaching to Australian women, we had 80,000 people in MCG for a final. In this way a game burst. Once Americans experienced the skills and enthusiasm of T20 cricket – diving catch, bare -handed fielding, six -heating – they would fall in love with it.Cricket in America is a giant sleep. Certainly, there will be ups and downs, but with smart owners and long-term investment, I really believe that the game can grow here. Strategic alignment will be important in franchises and national setups. What role can a league like MLC play in the creation of a cricket ecosystem in the US?MLC is important. Just as IPL inspires children in India, MLC can inspire children here. This makes the game visible, local and accessible. Young boys and girls can now dream of representing Seattle orkas or playing for America one day. They can see world -class talent in their backyard. This type of exposure is a recipe for development, mixed with local heroes. Over time, it can feed directly into the national team. What do local players need the most to reach international level? The infrastructure is important. Most of the young American players tell me that they just want more time on turf wickets, better net and center wicket facilities. Indoor training is good, but nothing quality takes place on exterior surfaces. Steps for the drop-in wickets help, but is constantly outdoor training game-changer. Under circumstances like the match, regular training will run the player’s development. What role can experienced coaches like themselves play in this journey? For me, coaching is about sharing knowledge, building faith and guiding development. I like a collaborative style – ask players where they want to take their game, help them identify strength and areas for improvement, and be a sounding board that they can also trust outside the tournament window. You cannot overhala a player in a small tournament, but you can give direction. Sometimes sharing a video of just a similar player can trigger Vikas. And available to talk – even after the tournament – how do you make something meaningful and permanent.
