Nair, who created a historic triple-century against England in 2016, fought through the years of being ignored despite a strong domestic record. His return is seen as an important part of India’s transitional phase post, the retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from Test cricket.Kaif identified Sai Sudhasan as another batsman in the Dravid-Sujara Mold, appreciating his risky approach and all-round technology.Kaif said, “Sai Reformson, I have seen him, he looks like a full batsman. He takes a low risk, protects solid, spin and bowls fast. He is a full package.”“In a format like IPL, he has scored by playing ground stroke in all matches. I think he may be the future Pujara or Rahul Dravid.”
Kaif offered his pick for India’s fourth fast-bouling option in the first Test, with Reddy’s batting capacity and recent red-ball exploits, supported Nitish Reddy on veteran Shardul Thakur.“I think Nitish Reddy will be the fourth fast bowler as he will also bat at number 8. He can come after Jadeja. He scored a century in Australia and he can come and take one or two wickets,” Kaif said.
