‘Nixon was designed to wait for an hour’: BJP MP Dubey compared Indira Gandhi’s 1971 US visit to PM Modi’s diplomacy, accused the Congress of falling for ‘Pakistan’s web’. Bharat News

New Delhi: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Friday launched a sharp attack on the legacy of the Congress party’s foreign policy, using historical anecdotes and recent controversies to question the credibility of Nehru-Gandhi leadership in the global diplomat. In a post on X, Dubey recalled an incident since 1971, claiming that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was waiting for an hour by US President Richard Nixon during his visit to Washington.“Iron Lady Indira ji, Jeram Ramesh ji, for your information, when Indira Gandhi reached Washington in 1971 to meet US President Nixon, President Nixon made her sit in his waiting room for 1 hour,” he wrote. He urged the Congress to reflect this and compare Prime Minister Narendra Modi with global stature today.“Think about the status of Nehru Gandhi family policy?”A few days after Dubey’s comments, he criticized Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her party and allegedly to fall for a wrong information campaign to incorporate Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir.“Opposition, especially the Congress has stopped reading and writing. For the last 2-3 days, the entire Congress party kept saying that Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir is going to America. It was a trap by Pakistan,” Dubey told Annie.“People across the country changed Modi’s opposition to the country. Today, it is known that the White House or the US Army never called Asim Munir. What is the difference between Pakistan Muslim League and Jayaram Ramesh?”Taking a deep historic swipe, Dubey cited the 1985 Kanishka bombing by the Khalistani extremists, at that time the inaction of Canada was accused of how Indira Gandhi’s diplomatic efforts were often ignored.“When the Kanishka bombings occurred in 1985, Canada started its investigation only in 2006. Former Canadian PM Pierre Trudeau, who was in power from 1968 to 1984, received seven letters from Indira Gandhi over 16 years, he asked to work against Khalistani terrorists,” said Dubey.“They never responded. They never heard. And now Congress wants to teach us foreign policy?”The Congress party has not yet responded to Dubey’s latest statements.
