New Delhi: A government school teacher in Jalna district of Maharashtra is facing disciplinary action after a video, showing him sleeping in a classroom, went viral on Friday, told the news agency PTI. The incident took place at the Marathi medium district council school in Gadegavan village located in Zafarabad tehsil. The school completes students from class I to V. In a widely shared video, teacher VK Munde is seen resting on a desk with his leg, while about 15 to 17 students sit quietly in the pass. When the filming person asks one of the children how long the teacher was sleeping, the child responds, “Half an hour.” Confirming the identity of the teacher, Block Education Officer, Satish Shinde said: “Strict action will be taken against the teacher as per departmental rules.” He said that a report on this matter will be submitted to the District Education Officer.
