Pune: The newly registered voters will be added to the electoral roll to their Electrical Photo Identity Card (EPIC) within 15 days of their name, under a new fast-track delivery system launched by the Election Commission (ECI) on 18 June, the state election officials told TOI. The initiative also applies to voters, who demand change in their details, including the address updates and improvements.ECI has deployed a dedicated IT module on the ECINET platform, integrated with the application programming interface of India’s post, to change the old manual workflow which will take 30-45 days to give voter ID card. State election officials said that the new system enables real-time tracking and SMS alerts at each stage-the Postal Department by the Postal Department for Dorster delivery by the Postal Department. It is again the purpose of engineer, safe and efficient digital process to improve transparency, reduce delay and ensure better data security. “All epic applications will now be processed through ECINET, which allows fast and more efficient distribution,” said an official of the office of the Chief Electoral Officer. Officials said that they will now cover the latest epic applications and clean them according to this new process.Voters who have enrolled, said that it will help track the epic cards that go wrong. “This system can help a citizen know the status of epic card remittance,” said another official. To apply for the card, a voter plan said, “New reforms will definitely help track the card and see that it is not wrong like previous examples.”
