New Delhi: A local court in Jammu on Monday detained the two -day two people to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), who was arrested on 22 April to shelter Pakistani militants responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack, claiming that 26 people claimed and injured 16 others, said.The arrested people, Parviz Ahmed Joti of Batakot and Bashir Ahmed Jothar of Hill Park in Pahgam were taken into custody on Sunday. The arrest marked the first major success in the investigation of the authorities described as one of the most severe terrorist attacks in recent years, targeting most tourists.The accused was produced before Additional District and Sessions Judge Ritesh Kumar Dubey in Jammu and was sent to NIA custody by 27 June.According to the NIA, Parviz and Bashir deliberately harassed three armed terrorists in a seasonal hut (Dhok) in Hill Park before the attack. Investigators said that both provided food, shelter and logical assistance to the terrorists.
During interrogation, the two revealed the identity of the attackers, confirming that they were Pakistani citizens who were associated with the banned terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LAT). The NIA also said that the attackers selected the victims on the basis of their religious identity.The April 22 attack has deepened nationwide resentment and anti-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA is continuing its efforts to identify local colleagues and find out the entire terrorist network behind the strike.
