Kerala: Congress’ UDF won Neellambur in a big shock for LDF

In a major setback for the ruling LDF of Kerala, Congress -led United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate Aryadan Shukath defeated CPI (M) M Swaraj of CPI (M) by a margin of 11,077 votes in Nilambur Bayal. Shukath, son of former minister Aryadan Mohammed, secured 77,737 votes, while Swaraj managed 66,660.The seat was vacant after LDF -backed independent, two -time MLA PV Anwar. Jeet promoted morale to the Congress ahead of the 2026 assembly elections.Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Lok Sabha MP from neighboring Wayanad congratulated Shukhat and said:“We worked as a team, with every commitment and single pointed focus, this is the most important lesson of this success … Your belief and belief in the values ​​of our Constitution will be the guide to our way in view of UDF for progress.”

West Bengal: TMC’s Alifa Ahmed recorded a landslide victory in Kaliganj

The daughter of late MLA Nasiruddin Ahmed, Trinmool Congress candidate Alifa Ahmed won Kaliganj Bipol in Nadia district with a 50,049-votes margin on BJP’s Ashish Ghosh. Alifa cast 1,02,759 votes, while Ghosh got 52,710. Congress’ Kaabil Udin Sheikh finished third with 28,348 votes.Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee thanked the voters and dedicated the victory to “Maa-Maan-Manush” and late Nasiruddin Ahmed.He said, “In the by -election of Kaliganj assembly constituency, people from all religions, castes, communities and all the areas of life have given us huge blessings … I dedicate this victory to the people of Bengal,” he said.By training, an engineer, Alifa quit his job in the private sector and entered politics inspired by MP Mahua Motra.

Gujarat: Aap retains VisavadarBJP like Kadi

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Gopal Italia defeated BJP’s Kirit Patel by a margin of 17,554 votes in Visvadar, retrieved the seat he won in 2022, but lost due to his MLA, Bhupendra Bhaiyani veteran.Meanwhile, the BJP retained its Kadi seat, where Rajendra Chavada won by around 40,000 votes, maintaining its hold on the constituency since 2017.

Punjab: AAP retains Ludhiana West, Congress resigns

In Punjab, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) upheld the Ludhiana West seat, in which candidate Sanjeev Arora defeated Congress leader Bharat Bhushan Ashu by 10,637 votes. Arora secured 35,179 votes to 24,542 of Asu.Bapol was required after Aap MLA Gurperet Bassi Gogi’s seating death.Soon after the defeat, Ashu announced his resignation as the executive president of the Punjab Congress, saying he was taking “moral responsibility” for the loss.He said, “I have resigned my resignation, taking moral responsibility for the election defeat in the by -election,” he asked reporters in Ludhiana.BJP’s Jeevan Gupta cast 20,323 votes, and SAD’s Parupakar Singh Ghuman received 8,203.
