Sanjeev Kumar, who embodied the flexible Thakur Baldev Singh, was paid ₹ 1.25 lakh. Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan was paid ₹ 1lakh for his role. The unforgettable Gabbar Singh, played by Amjad Khan, earned him ₹ 50,000. Among the major women, Hema Malini took a house of ₹ 75,000, while Jaya Bachchan received at least ₹ 35,000.Interestingly, it was Dharmendra who recommended Bachchan for the role.
