DA case: Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia arrested after a raid by Punjab Vigilance Bureau; What protest

New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia was arrested on Wednesday by the Vigilance Bureau of Punjab after a raid on his house in Amritsar.According to the news agency PTI, Majithia’s wife and Akali MLA Ganiva Kaur Majithia claimed that an inconsistent asset case was registered against her.However, the bureau is yet to confirm the details of the case in which he has arrested the Akali leader.Earlier in the day, about a dozen bureau officials made a discovery at Majithia’s house, leading to a faster protests from his family members. When Majithia’s wife, Gainev Kaur – A sitting MLA – faced officials outside his house, the situation increased, alleging that he had entered without any warning. “These people have entered our house,” he told reporters. Sources indicate that when Gainev Kaur entered a room, where Majithia was seated with the authorities, the door was closed behind them.
