Every time I return for the season of Major League Cricket (MLC), I see progress. This is MLC season 3, and it is already indicating something special – not only for fans who show in numbers, but are also trying to make cricket bigger in the United States for players, coaches and all behind the curtains.When I first joined, people were still uncertain whether it was a passed interest or long -term vision. Well, in three sessions, it is clear that we are to live here. The quality of cricket has improved. Local talent has become better. International stars are changing in large numbers. And now, we are playing in iconic places like Okland Colisium – this is development.

Most of the current fanbase come from South Asian, West Indian or South African communities – people who brought sports with them. The next step is incorporating more Americans, and it is going to take time and investment. But do you know what? We have already started, and this is what it matters.

Which aspect of Major League cricket makes you the most excited?
As a coach, I like to be a part of this journey. My job is not only strategic during the match – it is also that I have to pass what I have learned, to help these young players understand the tempo of the game and bring their best. There are skills. It is passion. It is now about learning to create confidence, play fearlessly and optimize.Infrastructure is another large piece for puzzle. Our owners are already investing in a stadium in Los Angeles, and with the Olympic Olympics in 2028, I hope that the stadium will one day host cricket on the world’s largest stage. That is vision. The franchise is expected to build her own field and start academies. This is how you make a pipeline.

We have already seen signs that this system is working. The USA national team surprised many people in the T20 World Cup. Some of those players came through the MLC system. Imagine what can happen in five more years.Will cricket ever be as baseball or basketball in America? I am not sure To reach that level for a game, it must be homegron, something like something that hugs the whole country. But don’t count us. Powerful owners are emotional fans, and most importantly the players who are hungry.
