‘Yun Hi Chala Chala’: Swads Song put the Subanshu Shukla veins before the lift-off; Lucknow boy takes Mango Amrit, sweets in space. Bharat News

“Yun Hi Chala Chal Rahi, Kitney Haseen Hai Yeh Duniya …” Shah Rukh Khan-Star ‘Swadds’ philosophical road song on Wednesday heard the group captain Shubhanshu Shukla before going to the launchpad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for a lift-off.There is an old tradition in NASA that when astronauts say goodbye to their families and drive towards the launchpad, they hear their own choice of music. While astronauts are usually recommended to travel light, Shukla is also carrying some mouth-water-water pudding, and moong dal pudding-to satisfy their cravings for homemade food in space with them.After the 1999 Kargil war, Lucknow boy Shubhanshu Shukla was inspired to join IAF. Therefore, he applied for the National Defense Academy (NDA) examination and approved it. He completed his military training and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from NDA in 2005. He was then selected for the Flying Branch and trained at the IAF Academy. In June 2006, he was commissioned in the fighter stream of IAF as a flying officer. Shukla logged in more than 2,000 flight hours in several aircraft including SU-30 MKI, MIG-21, MIG-29, Jaguar, Hawk, Dornier 228, and AN-32.In 2019, I was selected for the Gaganan Mission of ISRO, Shukla, along with three other selected Indian astronauts, in 2020, Yuri Gagarin went to Russia for basic training at the Cosmonott Training Center. After completing basic training in 2021, Shukla and others returned to India and participated in training in astronaut training facility in Bengaluru. During that time, he completed the Master of Technology degree in Aerospace Engineering from IISC Bangalore.Shukla’s name as a member of the Gaganan team was officially declared on February 27, 2024, when PM Narendra Modi announced the names of astronaut-managed people for India’s first human space mission at Vikram Sarabhai Space Center in Thiruvananthapuram.Last year, he was selected for the pilot, which Axiom Mission 4 was selected for ISS, becoming the first Indian astronaut to do so.
