Instead, spokesperson Keith Dagui read a statement on his behalf, stating what the execution was lost: “Nothing can change that Jordan took us 49 years ago.”The court records suggests that in January 1976, Jordan called the Gulf National Bank at Gulfport, a directory received the house address of Charles Marter, a loan officer, and kidnapped Mercury’s wife Edwina. She shot her husband in a forest before calling her to demand $ 25,000, claiming that she was alive.Jordan’s execution followed legal challenges for decades, with four tests and several appeals. He was one of the several prisoners who sued his three-drag execution protocol to Mississippi, called it inhuman. On Monday, the US Supreme Court rejected its final appeal without any comment.Defense lawyers argued that Jordan faced a serious post-tromatic stress disorder with three consecutive Vietnam tourism, but Governor Tate Reves denied an apologetic request, which cited his war-time trauma.This execution was the third of Mississippi in the last decade and was the first after December 2022. It came a day later when another prisoner was killed in Florida, which supervisors say that the highest annual American execution calculation since 2015 could be done.
