Lucknow: Axiom Mission 4 (AX-4) Pilot and family members of Indian Air Force Group Shubhanshu Shukla met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Thursday evening.Shukla’s father Shambu Dayal Shukla, mother Asha Shukla, sister Shuchi Mishra, and brother met the Chief Minister, who reshuffled him and presented him with a token of appreciation for the selection of Shukla for the space mission.Talking to ANI, Shukla’s mother, Asha Shukla said, “We are happy. We can meet the Chief Minister today because of our son. He implicated us. We express my heartfelt gratitude to him. He appreciated our child and said that he has done very well. We felt very proud. Today our son has a new identity.”AXIOM-4 Pilot and IAF group captain Shubhinhu Shukla first made history by becoming 634th human in space and becoming the first Indian to ride on the International Space Station (ISS), described the moment as “privilege”. The AX-4 crew successfully docked with ISS after a 28-hour trip to the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.Soon after receiving his astronaut PIN from AX-4 Mission Commander Paiggy Whitson, Shukla said, “I am not 634, this is a privilege.” “To be fair, it is the privilege of one of the few people who have got the opportunity to see the Earth from a convenient point that I can now see. It’s a wonderful ride. I was eager to come to space-I was eager to come to the space-it’s something to look forward. But the moment I entered the ISS, I welcomed. His arrival was marked by a traditional reception.The mission represents the return of the human spacecraft for India, Poland and Hungary, each nation sent the ISS for the first time in 40 years. This is also the first time these countries are operating a mission in ISS.As the most research-intensive mission of Axiom Space, AX-4 will include more than 60 experiments and technology performances. These include biology, muscle regeneration, food microlega, digital interface tests and study in the existence of aquatic organisms. Research is jointly developed by NASA, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Axiom Space.Crew launched NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at Falcon 9 rocket on Wednesday, 25 June at 3:21 pm ET. The mission is expected to last for 14 days.
