6.1 Earthquake hits southern Philippines, no significant damage was reported- another in one week

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a strong 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred on the southern coast of the Philippines on Saturday.The earthquake occurred at a depth of 101 km and the Davo was located about 70 km from the nearest point in the oxidantl province.There was no immediate report of casualties or significant losses.“Shake was not as strong as strong, but the tables and computers (for about five seconds) were shaken in the office,” a provincial rescue worker Marlavin Fuints, a provincial rescue worker in Saragani, told AFP.This is the second earthquake in the Philippines this week. On Tuesday, the 6.2 magnitude earthquake killed the northern part of the country.The Philippines Pacific experiences continuous seismic activity due to its location with the “Ring of Fire”, a major area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where several earthquakes and volcanic explosion occur.
