New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday ordered an order of the Itanagar bench of Gauhati HC, to deposit 50% of the compensation of Rs 418 crore from the Center, which was believed by the government, for the acquisition of 537 acres of land for defense projects in the remote India-China border areas of Arunachal professions.Showing to the Union Government, Additional Solicitor General SD Sanjay told a bench led by Justice KV Vishwanathan that a person had forged and fabricated the power of the lawyers of 102 landlords and contacted the reference court for revaluation of the market value of the land, which was made by the authorities for Rs 70 crore and paid the landlords.Sanjay said that despite pointing to the mischief played by a person by the government, its satisfaction has been recorded in receiving Rs 70 crore as compensation against the rest of the landlords, the reference court determined the market value of the land in remote areas that the rate eight times the rate by the authorities.ASG asked how the land in the remote Indo-China border areas of Arunachal Pradesh increased from 10-12 lakhs per acre per acre to about 80 lakh rupees. The bench said that this union government was a lawyer who had agreed to deposit 10% of Rs 418 crore before the Itanagar bench and therefore, it would have to be done.The SC directed the Center to deposit Rs 41.8 crore before the Itanagar bench registry and ordered the suspension of the reference court order. The union government has stated that the remarriage of the compensation amount was played by a stained riba “by forgery, construction and fraud, which transferred the reference court on the basis of the forged and fabricated power off lawyers of 102 landlords alone.”The Center said that the landlords had received compensation at the first prescribed rate and signed a deed of acceptance in November 2023 and did not contact the reference court for the increase of compensation. This accused the RIBA of taking advantage of the situation to play arbitrarily increased compensation amount to play cheating with the intention of pocket.The Ministry of Defense approved the proposal to acquire 537 acres of land in the general area of Bomb village of Basar Circle in Leparda district in Arunachal Pradesh (border area) on 16 February 2023, to establish the core circular point. It had fixed a market rate of Rs 12.9 lakh per acre as compensation, a total of Rs 70 crore.
