New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday made fun of Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge’s “High Command” comment, which amid speculation about the possible change of leadership in the Government of Karnataka, asking who is actually the “party high command” if not itself.In a post on X, BJP leader Tejasavi Surya compared the Congress High Command to a ghost – “Non -neglect and unheard, but always felt.”“Congress high command is like a ghost. It is unseen, unheard, but has always been felt. Even the Congress President, who thought that there is a high command, its name is whisper and says that it is not,” Surya said.“So terrible!” He said.Earlier in the day, Kharge indicated a possible leadership change in the Government of Karnataka, stating that “the party high command has got power” to take action.Responding to speculation about possible changes in the post of Chief Minister Minister in October, Kharge said,“Look, it is in the hands of high command. No one can say what is happening in the high command. It has been left on high command.”He said, “High command has gained power to take further action. But unnecessarily, no one should create problems,” he said.This Congress MLA Ha Iqbal Hussain claimed that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar may become the Chief Minister within the next two to three months.Hussain said, “You all know what was our (Congress) strength before this government came to power.He said, “I don’t believe in speculation. We are confident that the high command is aware of the situation and will take a reasonable decision at the right time to give him a chance.”Asked if Shivkumar will be given CM Post this year, Hussain replied, “Yes, I am saying this. Some leaders are pointing for revolutionary political development after September – this is what he is talking about. A decision will be made within two to three months.”“This is what I am saying. I am not beating around the bush; I am speaking directly,” he insisted.However, when reminded that Siddaramaiah’s son and MLC Yatindra Siddaramaiah rejected the discussion only as speculation, Hussein said that the party’s central leadership had decided to form the government after the first 2023 assembly elections.“We were all together in Delhi. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikrajun Kharge decided. Everyone knows that they will also take the next decision – we have to wait and see,” he said.Earlier, Cooperation Minister KN Rajanna also indicated in “revolutionary” political developments after September.
