New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday kicked the Landmark Five-Nation Tour, in which Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia traveled between July 2 to 9. The broad journey aims to increase India’s deep association with the global South and is committed to creating a strong partnership in the Atlantic. The Prime Minister said, “I am confident that my journeys in five countries will strengthen our bonding friendship in the global south, strengthen our partnership on both sides of the Atlantic, and will deeply connect in multilateral platforms like BRICS, African Union, Ecovas and Caricom.”PM leaves for GhanaPM Modi’s first stop is Ghana, where he will be hosted by President John Droni Mahama. During the journey of July 2-3, PM Modi is ready to focus on increasing cooperation in areas such as investment, energy, health, safety and development. “Ghana is a valuable partner in the global South and plays an important role in the Economic Community of the African Union and the West African states,” he said. PM will also address Ghana’s Parliament- a gesture he called a “one honor” for the two countries.‘An opportunity to rejuvenate special bonds’: PM Modi on a trip to Trinidad and Tobago Then in West Africa, the Prime Minister will visit Trinidad and Tobago on 3-4 July. Calling the Caribbean Nation a country with which India shares, “deep roots join historical, cultural and people,” PM Modi said that this year is inscribed 180 years after Indians came there. He will meet President Christine Carla Kangalu and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bisasar, who recently started his second term in the office. “This journey will give us an opportunity to rejuvenate the special bonds of dynasty and kinship which unite us,” he said.First visit to Argentina in 5 decades Subsequently, PM Modi will be the head of Buenos Aires, an Indian Prime Minister to mark the first bilateral visit in Argentina in 57 years.
